Sonex is an Australian-made premium range of acoustic foam products designed for home theatres, studios, and for commercial and industrial use. Sonex is an open cell, convoluted, combustion modified (fire retardant) foam (grade N28-180CM) designed to absorb reverberation and echo, providing softer, clearer and purer sound.
Convoluted foam profiles (similar in shape to the inside of an egg carton) provide over twice the surface area for sound wave absorption, compared to a flat foam sheet of the same size. By interfering with sound wave direction, and by trapping and absorbing sound energy, the convoluted foam profile helps to remove high frequency background noise, and increase sound clarity, resulting in softer and clearer sound.
Sonex acoustic foam sheets and tiles are most beneficial in removing the short wavelength, higher pitched (high frequency) sounds. For rooms where long wavelength, deep sounds also need to be removed add some bass corner traps.
Sonex foam sheets are made from combustion modified materials that have been tested to international and Australian flammability standards for automotive, aviation, and furniture industries. Sonex has also been rated under several Australian construction and building standards.
Sonex sheets and tiles can be mounted directly onto walls and ceilings. They can also be bonded to separate backing materials for optimised performance and customised acoustic solutions, such as hanging acoustic baffles and free standing sound barriers.

Dimensions:
* Full sheets are supplied untrimmed (have rough outer edges). Please advise when ordering if smooth trimmed edges are required. There is no charge for this process, which will reduce final sheet size to approximately 1900x1400mm.
'50/30mm' means 50mm thick at the high points and 30mm thick at the low points of the convoluted surface.
